Down to Get the Friction on

Standard
It was really foggy out this morning, so I bagged the commute for safety reasons. I came home at lunch time and grabbed the Trek. A couple of days ago, I switched the Trek over to friction shifting. I hadn’t ridden it since then. I was halfway to work before I remembered that I had made a change.

I could barely tell the difference. Indexed shifting is a bunch of crap, at least when it comes to downtube shifters. I know Sheldon says it’s a “major, very worthwhile upgrade.” Far be it for me to contradict the man himself, but I don’t see what the big deal is.

Anyways, after work, I rode down to city island and up the greenbelt a ways. I got a bit lost on the way back. My guesstimate is that I rode about 15 miles.
