Kusala, our favorite Buddhist monk, recently gave a talk about celibacy at the monks in the west conference.

In it, he explains why monks should be celibate.

“Raging desire takes away choice, freedom,”
“The senses must be controlled in order to be free.”

He then goes on about how “people like Jennifer Lopez” make it difficult to keep his senses free of desire.

Kusala has promised to post more audio from the talks at the conference in his “dharma talks” podcast. I always get a kick out of hearing the behind-the-scenes-at-the-monestary kind of stuff. Especially when the monks are talking about hot chicks.
