I got a nice launch down the big hill this morning. 40mph max speed. That’s the fastest I’ve ever gone on a bicycle. I must be getting stronger (or else my computer is on the fritz), because I clocked the fastest commute ever! 14.2mph average! That’s the fastest average speed of any ride I’ve ever done.

Karma, ain’t it a bitch. After my steller ride in, I got a flat on the way home.
Thanks to the nice man on the recumbent who offered to help, but I had everything under control. White cotton handlebar tape probably wasn’t the brightest idea I’ve ever had, however. Now my bars are an interesting shade of chain grease. I read somewhere that someone taped his bars with the cork tape fishermen use to wrap the handles of thier fishing poles. I might try that.
